Clock Hour Training
In Oregon, there are two types of Cosmetology schools. Competency-Based and Hourly Based. The Competency-Based Program allows students the ability to demonstrate that they are “competent” through academic and practical testing to accelerate in the training sooner than the traditional clock hour program.
Portland Beauty School's Competency-Based program is approved and licensed through the Oregon Department of Education. We are also registered with the Better Business Bureau with an A+ Rating! Students requiring additional training will be required and/or allowed to remain in their training for the maximum clock hours.
